Prostate Cancer Foundation
New York City Gala Concert
The bustling streets of midtown Manhattan along Central Park South are home to some of America’s landmark hotels. One of the most storied is the Plaza, and that’s where the EVI concert producing team found itself recently to participate in one of the top fund-raising events of the year.
The occasion was the 25th Annual Gala of The Prostate Cancer Foundation. EVI was honored to collaborate with PCF and Vision Matrix on the production. Each year, the event raises millions to support PCF’s groundbreaking cancer research programs and celebrates the organization’s continuing accomplishments. Participants included leaders from the fields of medicine, research and business, plus a top list of renowned philanthropists.
EVI’s participation centered on producing the evening’s music entertainment. The historic Plaza Ballroom was transformed into an intimate theatrical environment for a classic concert featuring some of the top names in music.
Sixteen-time Grammy Winner David Foster music-directed a spectacular show featuring Andrea Bocelli, Katharine McPhee and Pia Toscano. Andrea’s daughter Virginia Bocelli also performed with her father in a special duet. The ninety-minute show featured a beautiful mix of classic and pop, tailor-made for the discerning audience.
The event raised over six million dollars. Since 1993, PCF, founded by Mike Milken, has raised close to one billion dollars to support research projects at hundreds of leading cancer centers around the world.
