50th Anniversary Celebration Concert

Under the painted desert skies above the San Jacinto mountains, a magical and refreshing sound reaches the ear. It’s the sound of music…live music, arising from Stadium Court at the famed Indian Wells Tennis Garden. After nearly two years of canceled and postponed performances, the EVI concert producing team is back in action. The occasion is the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Eisenhower Health, a milestone that couldn’t be more fitting.

Collaborating with Eisenhower Health and Artisan Events, the team has curated an inspiring program worthy of the renowned health system’s legacy of accomplishment. Sixteen-time Grammy winner David Foster is in the house, performing and music directing a two-hour, star-studded concert. Andrea Bocelli headlines, and he’s brought along his talented family of singers, son Matteo and daughter Virginia, to create a Bocelli family affair. Andrea delivers a stunning set of vocals as only he can do, showcasing his full range in a mix of classic and pop perfection.

The Foster family has a one-two punch of its own, as Broadway, television and pop star Katharine McPhee Foster performs a diverse and electrifying set of tunes…from “Over the Rainbow” to “Redneck Woman”. David enchants the audience with medleys from his inexhaustible archive of hits from Chicago, The Bodyguard and Celine Dion, performed by McPhee and vocal sensation Pia Toscano.

A poignant moment in the show features Ms. Toscano’s stirring rendition of Foster’s 9/11 arrangement of “God Bless America”. The performance pulls the audience to its feet, reflecting on the times, drenched in emotion.

Contrasting such moments, the legendary Jay Leno reminds us that the ability to laugh at ourselves is perhaps our greatest attribute. Saying things that only he can say, but reflective of what is on many people’s minds, Leno’s superbly crafted commentary is a humorous and healing force. Bravo Sir Jay!

For 1,600 of Eisenhower’s sustaining donors, the program represents more than a majestic evening of music, it symbolizes what so many have dedicated their lives to…the betterment of humanity through an unwavering philanthropic spirit.

Congratulations…may the accomplishment and celebration continue.
