The David Foster Foundation is known for creating miracles. Having raised millions to help families with children receiving organ transplants, David and his foundation work passionately to ease their financial and emotional burden.
The Foundation’s primary fund raising event is the David Foster and Friends Miracle Concert, presented by Telus. Produced annually by EVI in a major Canadian city, the 2014 edition was held in Calgary, Alberta. Foundation sponsor Westjet graciously hosted the event at their corporate campus at Calgary International Airport, allowing EVI to transform its monstrous aircraft hangar into a unique and exciting concert venue.
EVI works shoulder to shoulder with Foster and Foundation President Michael Ravenhill to design and produce what has become one of the most anticipated events in Canada. Star studded entertainment, numerous fund raising opportunities, outstanding cuisine and a chance to gather with Canadian celebrities and business royalty make the Gala and Concert a date not to be missed.
But the real motivation is the phenomenal work being done for families and kids. In an outpouring of support for Foster and the cause, the who’s who of Calgary turned out and were treated to a once in a lifetime night of entertainment with David and some of his closest friends. Walking the red carpet and gracing the stage were classic pop vocal sensation Jackie Evancho…comedian Sinbad…Canadian pop legend Andy Kim…classical vocalist Carly Paoli…rising country start Brett Kissel…producer and R&B star Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds…Grammy and Oscar winning performer Jennifer Hudson… and topping it all off, rock icon Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. CNN Anchor Michaela Pereira hosted the festivities.
When the curtain dropped on the grand finale, a record $8.2 million had been raised, ensuring the continued efforts of one of Canada’s most exceptional organizations.
