The classical mastery of Romanian-prodigy Geanina who transcended political oppression to capture Romania’s highest honors as a concert pianist and composer – has grown to embrace modern crossover ties to Pop and New Age. Writing her own songs that she plays and sings, Geanina’s music is a crossover classical/pop/new age style, with sweet but strong melodic lines, classically grounded, but grown towards the modern sounds.

The Russian-trained concert pianist, composer and vocalist Geanina began her musical journey in Romania where, at the age of 5, she won the "Cantarea Romaniei" National Piano Competition. At only 10 years old, Geanina made her orchestral debut, playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20 in D minor with the renowned Botosani State Philharmonic.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Geanina flourished, capturing first prize in the 1991 and 1993 Carl Czerny National Piano Competitions and embarking on a European concert tour. After years of performing on the classical stage, in 2004 Geanina moved to Montreal to formulate the next steps of her musical vision.

An ambitious routine of performing, collaborating and writing is proving to be the ideal platform for the development of her unique musical voice…a beautiful mix of classical melody with pop sensibility.

In Oct ’08 she performed in Las Vegas for 2,000 people in concert with American Idol Katherine McPhee and Warner recording artist Peter Cincotti.

Geanina is currently working on her first album with the prolific, award winning composer and arranger William Ross whose work has spanned feature films, the recording industry and television. Ross has composed/arranged music for such films as Harry Potter, Stewart Little, Tin Cup, Matrix Reloaded, Lethal Weapon and Forrest Gump. Ross has also arranged music and songs for artists including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Whitney Houston, Kenny G., Michael Jackson, David Foster, Quincy Jones, Babyface, Bette Midler, Jennifer Lopez and Andrea Bocelli.

With an inspiring collection of her original songs, the upcoming album and a full schedule of concerts set for both Canada and the US, at age 26, Geanina is stepping fully into the spotlight.
